HEROES 4GTA PROGRAM
The Heroes Program is a six-year Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), Sexual and Gender Based Violence Program (SGBV) that started in 2020 in nine High Burdened Districts of Uganda. The Program aims at empowering young girls and boys (aged 10-24) and Women of reproductive age (age 25-29) with knowledge and skills to escape SGBV, strengthen district health systems to respond to SGBV, promote greater respect for SRHR and establish a strong response system against SGBV. The targeted districts are Bugiri, Budaka, Bukwo, Kween, Mbale, Iganga, Namayingo, Mayuge and Kalangala. It is implemented in collaboration with the government of Uganda, Civil society organizations, and various stakeholders from national to community and facility levels. The national level implementing consortium includes Amref Health Africa, Cordaid, and MIFUMI.
Iganga University Students and Youth Association (IUSYA) is one of the youth led and serving organization implementing the program at community level.
IUSYA empowers community change agents in the sub county's of Nawanyingi, Nawandala and Nambale to roll out curriculum based age appropriate SRHR /SGBV information and services to the community people.




NZE IWE / I'M YOU PROJECT
This project is implemented by IUSYA whose goal is to reduce the burden of HIV among AGYWs in and out of school (15-24) from 4.8% to 3.3% in Iganga District by the end of 2026. The project is implemented under the Global Fund-supported HIV/TB and Malaria project in partnership with The AIDS Support Organization (TASO) and Uganda Development and Health Associates (UDHA)
Under the project, IUSYA in collaboration with district, sub county structures and community health facilities conduct targeted community mobilization and sensitization sessions, facilitate intergenerational community dialogues to improve health knowledge and service demand, support linkages between young people and youth-friendly health services, mobilize and support integrated community outreaches thus facilitating a reduction of HIV infections within the communities.
CHANGE A LIFE
This is a community focused project dedicated to extending support to the least privileged members of society. The project aims to restore hope and dignity by addressing critical needs that limit access to education, health, and sustainable livelihoods.
Through this initiative, total orphans are supported with educational scholarships, ensuring they can stay in school and build a better future. The project also provides clothing and basic necessities to vulnerable individuals and families, helping to meet their immediate needs.
In addition, essential health services are brought closer to the community, improving access to healthcare and promoting overall well-being. To support long-term self-reliance, the project imparts livelihood and vocational skills, empowering community members to generate income and improve their quality of life.
Change a Life is driven by the belief that with the right support, every individual deserves a chance to thrive.

THE GENTLEMAN CAMPAIGN
This is a transformative project aimed at empowering boys and men to become champions of positive masculinity and allies in the fight against gender-based violence by fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and accountability. This project works to shift social norms and equip males with the awareness, skills, and motivation to promote equality and safety in their communities. The project challenges harmful gender norms and promotes values of respect, accountability, and equality.
Through mentorship, dialogue, life-skills training, and community engagement, Gentleman equips boys and men with the knowledge and attitudes needed to prevent violence, support survivors, and model healthy relationships. Rather than viewing men as perpetrators, the project positions them as key agents of change in creating safer families and communities.
By fostering responsible leadership and advocacy among boys and men, Gentleman contributes to the prevention of gender-based violence and the promotion of a more just and inclusive society.
KOONA MU NGATTO NA SRHR
This is a community-based project focused on addressing teenage pregnancies, early marriages, and school dropouts through comprehensive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) education and support.
The project works with adolescents, parents, and community leaders to increase awareness, promote informed decision-making, and challenge harmful social norms that limit young people’s potential. By providing age-appropriate SRHR information, mentorship, and referrals to youth-friendly health services, the project empowers young people especially girls to stay in school, protect their health, and plan for their futures.
Koona mu Ngatto Na SRHR seeks to create supportive communities where adolescents are informed, protected, and able to pursue education and opportunities free from preventable risks.




TERRA VERDE / GREEN EARTH PROJECT
Terra Verde is an environmental initiative dedicated to promoting environmental conservation and climate change mitigation through community action and awareness. Inspired by the meaning Green Earth, the project encourages responsible stewardship of natural resources to protect the planet for present and future generations.
The project focuses on environmental education, tree planting, waste management, and sustainable practices that reduce environmental degradation and strengthen community resilience to climate change. By engaging local communities, especially young people, Terra Verde fosters a culture of environmental responsibility and collective action.
Through practical solutions and community participation, Terra Verde contributes to a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable environment.
Community Reach and Impact
Our health programing has impacted over 15,000 + of the most vulnerable people.
